As an advanced treatment device based on the principle of high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU), the clinical and cosmetic application effects of the ultrasonic scalpel largely depend on the standardization of operation and attention to detail. Because it involves energy focusing, tissue heating, and real-time monitoring, operators must be familiar with the equipment's structure and treatment principles, and strictly follow established procedures to achieve the desired therapeutic effect while maximizing patient safety.

Preparation before operation is fundamental to success. First, check that the main unit, transducer, cooling system, and connecting lines are intact and undamaged, and confirm that the power supply is stable and preheated to the specified state. Based on the treatment area and target depth, select a matching probe and preset treatment parameters. Simultaneously, mark key positioning points on the patient's skin to ensure accurate energy focusing at the predetermined depth. The treatment area must be cleaned, removing oil, sweat, and makeup residue. If necessary, shave any hair that may obstruct coupling, and apply an ultrasonic coupling agent evenly to reduce acoustic impedance and optimize energy transmission. Individuals with implanted pacemakers or other electronic devices, those who are pregnant, or those with acute skin inflammation should be considered contraindicated and their treatment rescheduled or referred.

During the procedure, gently touch the probe to the marked area. Use an image-guided system or skin positioning aid to correct the incident angle and depth, ensuring precise focus coverage of the target tissue. After initiating transmission, closely monitor the real-time temperature curve and energy output indication from the device to ensure the focus temperature remains within an effective and safe range, generally controlled between 60℃ and 70℃, avoiding exceeding the tissue tolerance threshold. For larger areas or multi-site treatments, move the probe point by point along the preset path, maintaining appropriate overlap and intervals to prevent local overheating and ensure uniform energy distribution. Maintain communication with the patient during the procedure, paying attention to their subjective feelings. If significant stinging, burning, or other discomfort occurs, immediately stop the procedure and assess the cause.

After treatment, gently wipe off the coupling gel, check the skin for redness, swelling, blisters, or ecchymosis, and provide post-operative care education as per standard guidelines, including avoiding high-temperature environments, strenuous exercise, and the use of irritating skincare products to improve recovery and comfort. After use, the probe and contact surfaces must be cleaned promptly, and the device should be cooled and stored according to regulations. Regular performance verification and parameter calibration are essential to maintain long-term operational stability and measurement accuracy.

In general, the operation of an ultrasonic scalpel involves four interconnected and indispensable steps: thorough preparation, precise positioning, dynamic monitoring, and meticulous follow-up. Only by strictly adhering to technical specifications and safety management can the device's advantages in tissue heating, collagen remodeling, and lesion ablation be fully realized, providing reliable assurance for clinical and aesthetic treatments.
